He authored the bestselling memoir Better\, Not Bitter and serves on New York City’s Council for the 9th District. His story has been featured in the documentary The Central Park Five and the Netflix series When They See Us. He has received numerous honors\, including an honorary doctorate and the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
